my best friend happens to be my cousin. she is the unicorn princess and i am the princess of darkness. and like true best friends, we fought all the time when we were little. one of our favorite things to do was jump on the bed or jump off the bar in her basement onto a mattress on the floor. in the process, if we were wearing skirts, our skirts would fly up. and then we would start to argue about who's underwear was prettier. we still fight about that to this day, 20 years later. ^_^

What's the infamous story people tell about you?
Submitted by Cherney.
my mom loves to tell the story of how spoiled i was. if people were watching tv, i would stand in front of it so they would pay attention to ME. i took toys away from kids and made them cry. i wouldn't go to sleep, i would cry and cry until my parents bundled me up and drove me around the block, which to this day will make me drowsy. my cousins tell me they couldn't stand me.
and then, my sister was born. no one could believe the change in me. everything was about her. i gave everything i had to her. i wanted everyone to pay attention to her. i became a completely different child, for which, everyone is grateful.
the end.
What, to you, is the first sign of spring? Have you seen it yet?
Submitted by Spy.
the air smells different. when the snow starts to melt and the air gets a little lighter, it's easier to breathe, like a heavy blanket has been lifted. today is the first day of spring and it's raining here. it'll be raining here for most of the next week. i would say spring is here.
i was sitting in the teacher's lounge, trying to read a book. i had just picked it up and was completely engrossed in it, so much so that i hardly looked up to see who walked in. the man, a substitute, immediately started talking. asking small talk questions, then more personal ones. "what are you doing for spring break?" i wanted to say "i don't know you." but i answered politely and then tried to go back to reading. he kept talking! i finally got up and told him i had to go.
major pet peeve #1: do not ask me questions while i'm reading, unless it is something related to food ("would you like a cookie?") or a life threatening situation ("i cut off my hand and i'm bleeding to death!)
What's the story behind a time when you got locked out?
funny story and totally not my fault. when my sister was little (she was probably about 3 or 4 years old at the time), our parents only let us play within their sight, which meant on the balcony. so one especially hot and humid summer day, i had my sister in her little kiddie pool on the balcony. we draped a towel over 2 lawn chairs so we had some shade. our parents peeked out to tell us they were running out for a quick errand and then they'd be right back. they slid the door shut to keep the cool air in the apartment and were gone. after about 10 minutes, my sister and i were hot and bored. i tried to open the sliding door and found that i couldn't open it no matter how hard i pulled. out of habit, my dad had locked the door.
we huddled under the sliver of shade and tried not to think about the dripping sweat getting in our eyes. 30 minutes is a long time when all you can think about it ice water and popsicles. it took our parents came home and it took about a minute for them to figure out where we were. they were horrified for a whole 2 seconds and then couldn't stop laughing.
What was your favorite game to play at recess in grade school?
Submitted by Elisheva Chana.
if the weather was nice, my friends and i played soccer. alot of them were on the traveling soccer team. i wasn't supposed to play because my parents were so afraid i'd get hurt.
if we had indoor recess, we played house. from 1st to 3rd grade, i was "married" to the cutest guy in my grade. we had 24 children. 2nd grade was the best year though. we had a pseudo tree house built into a corner of the room to play in. i miss recess.
